Our last sightseeing day.
Today's breakfast was a light continental. To iterate, the seating was limited to about ten. They did have waffles, but they were toaster heated, not fresh made like some of the other hotels we stayed in. And they only had one two-slice toaster, so there were a lot of people standing around at breakfast time.
Our last and final sightseeing stop was the Edith Carrier Arboretum Gardens at James Maddison University. We arrived and
started our walk around the park. There were trails to walk - we did some of them, but not all - and quite a few flowers.
The fragrance emitting from this particular patch of roses was extremely strong.
And a pond with some ducks.
And some other sites.
A running brook. So peaceful...
That was most of the park. There was another extension of the park that had a labyrinth
that we wanted to see. So we walked to it. And then walked it.
The labyrinth itself was a two minute walk. Briskly. And I have proof!
Or if you would prefer something a little more entertaining...
We were going to meet Pam in Arlington for lunch so, while not exactly pressed for time, we also didn't have much time to spare. Underway, we had some nice views of the mountains and valleys, but since we had enough pictures of mountains and valleys already, we didn't take any more.
We had a light lunch of burgers that Jeff prepared, homemade salsa and chips, and potato salad Jeff's mother made. We stayed a couple hours before taking our last two drive-segments - one to the airport to pick up the car that we left twelve days prior and then the final hour trip to our final destination and final stop to put a final end to our trip. Final.
Almost home (though this is from i95 in Maryland, not PA, so we still had to go all the way to Philly and back.
We hope you enjoyed the read and the pictures. I am sure we will have another trip some time
in the future. When and where? Too soon to tell. Stay tuned. Or don't. 🌝
