Road Trip: Ohio
Day 8: Friday, April 12, 2019 - Wadsworth, OH
Day's statistics:
Weather: Mid-60s
Steps: Steve, 7,644; Linda 8,244
Drove: 176 miles
Breakfast was good. It was a full buffet - by now you should have an idea what they are like.
We wanted to get to the Cuyahoga National Park to get... a stamp. We arrived before the Visitor's Center even opened, but
we briefly spoke to a ranger who directed us toward where we wanted to go - Brandywine Falls. We drove over rather than hiked.
We traveled the about 15 minutes from the Visitor's Center, parked, and walked along a wooden path to the falls.
And one last selfie.
A brief video of the falls.
We met a couple of park workers that canvas the park to provide assistance - medical or map - to those in need. Just when we finished
talking to them and took a few steps, it started to lightly rain. We got back to the car and made our way back to the Visitor's Center.
Like the Capitols Collection book, there is a National Parks stamp book, and this was our first.
It never stopped raining. So we didn't spend too much time at the park. And we were glad we drove to the falls and didn't walk because it probably would have started raining when we arrived hiking, and still would have had to hike back.
On our way back to the hotel, we located a church that was just a couple miles away from the hotel so Linda and or I would know where we were going to be going for Mass tomorrow night.
Since breakfast was so much, we forewent lunch. By about noon, I was off to Mind Games® and Linda was on her own. We made plans to meet for dinner at about 6:00 - my event included dinner, but Linda was going to order off the menu and we were going to eat together. Linda returned to the room for some TV and catching up on her novel. She also walked to a nearby Aldi.
We met for dinner and Linda got a Cobb Salad from the conference center's restaurant. I had a selection of pastas, sauces, accompaniments, and salad. Linda sat with me with the group while we ate. After finishing, I returned to the game playing and Linda returned to the room.
I played games until about midnight. I was able to play 16 of my 30 that I was committed to.
