Day 9: Thursday, May 28, 2015 - Travel
Weather: Upper 80s. Sunny.
Steps: 7,018 (Steve), 6,316 (Linda)
Drove: 256 miles
Today's breakfast was a light continental.
This was our last day. Time to drive home.
One thing we noticed while generally driving in VA was the frequent speed changes. We would be traveling at 55 MPH. Then there would be signs changing to 45 then 35 then 25. Stoplight. Back to 55. We encountered this probably 10 times. Typically at that stoplight was either a crossroad (not all crossroads had stoplights) or a gas station.
We passed through D.C. and had lunch with Pam. Then we made the final leg back home. We hit the supermarket to buy new parishables since we wiped out the supply before leaving salad, milk, lunch meat.
Upon arrival at the homestead, we found the cat alive and still with food and water. And a really full litterbox. Two of them, actually. She meowed for about two hours straight. That isn't all that much of a thing as that is her modus operandi generally speaking anyway...
Our first big decsion: what to make for dinner...
